2018 Highlights

Happy New Year! It’s been a while since I’ve done a blog post so I thought I’d fill you in as to my reason why.

On the 20th July 2018, my beautiful baby boy, Mason Gabriel, entered the world. He’s 6 months old now and the apple in my eye. He loves music and went to his first festival at just 3 weeks old. I’ve also been running my own Theatre School, alongside gigs and the Retro Festival, so he’s been an angel fitting in with all of this.

Life has certainly been interesting as a full time mum, whilst simultaneously running my own business and still performing. A big part of me felt it was best not to tell clients about being pregnant incase they saw it as a negative, which I now realise shouldn’t ever be the case. With my last gig at 7 months pregnant and my first gig 5 weeks after giving birth, I wasn’t out of the scene for long.

He’s my new little sidekick and inspires me rather than enables me. I want him to grow up surrounded by music and dance. He’ll be joining me at both Retro Festivals this year, alongside my husband, who has been our rock. If you haven’t bought your tickets for Retro Festival yet hurry! The website is www.retrofestival.co.uk and there are still early bird tickets available for both festivals if you’re quick. For those of you that don’t know, I run the vintage marquee, otherwise known as the Spitfire Pavilion. As well as the daytime and evening bands there will also be a cabaret show at both festivals, which is always lots of fun. If you would like to be involved in next year’s festival please drop me an email at nicolaannemusic@gmail.com

Here I am at Newark Retro Festival 2018 at 8 months pregnant. So as you can imagine, 2018 was rather different to previous years. It was a year full of life changing experiences which I’ll always be grateful for and I want to thank everyone that stood by me throughout. I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store. Keep singing guys and most importantly keep smiling!
